DIY Christmas – Heatproof your Mugs!

Drinking hot chocolate this Christmas?

Want to make your own DIY Christmas mugs?

This is the tutorial for you.

1) What you need: Sugru & Dollar Tree Mugs

2) Roll the Sugru into small balls and flatten.

3) Press the Sugru onto your mug. Tap all over the circle lightly. Did you mess up? No worries! just pull off the circle and wipe the mug with a slightly damp paper towel. Dry the mug and try again.

4) Heatproof the bottom: Lay a circle over the edge of the mug {GOODBYE coasters!}.

5) Press it up the side and tap lightly all over the circle to make sure it adhered properly.

6) Let it dry overnight.

Dishwasher safe!

Sugru is not meant for serving food, so I placed the dots below the drinking line :)

Never hear of Sugru? It’s actually pretty cool. It feels like play-dough, bonds to almost anything and turns into a strong, flexible silicone rubber overnight. December only special: Order 4 packs and the 4th is free! also, check out what their little elf is making with Sugru this year.

I did receive a sample to use for this project but was not compensated for this post. All opinions expressed all mine.

  1. I love polka dots! In Chinese it is good luck. :)
