The fabulous people at Plaid sent me a the most amazing box of paint goodies from the Martha Stewart craft line. Wouldn’t you be excited if this showed up on your doorstep?!
I made a few projects but I LOVED this one. A canvas to put on my fireplace.
Want to make it too?
What you need:
Martha Stewart Paints (colors used: Pool, Couscous, and Wedding Cake)
Hot Glue Gun
Burlap
Scrapbook Paper
Ribbon
Canvas
‘Snow’ Bunting
The how-to:
1. Using the daubers, place dots all over the canvas (I mixed the yellow & blue with the white to get varying shades of each). Let dry.
My 5 year old daughter helped me with this step :)
2. Using the small snowflake stencil, paint snowflakes onto the bigger dots.
3. The colors were a bit too vivid for me, so I covered the entire canvas in a 10:1 mixture of glitter finish and ‘wedding cake’ paint.
4. Next, I mod-podged scrapbook paper onto the bottom {In hind-sight I would have NOT painted that portion. I had to sand off the paint to make sure the scrapbook paper went on smoothly}.
5. Hot glue burlap, ribbon, and bunting ‘SNOW’ letters as shown.
So, what do you think? Cute, eh?
Check out these bloggers to see what they made with their goodies!
Don’t forget about the giveaway! Ends Monday.
