Rapunzel Party

Did you think I ran away, never to return?

Life happened… I now have a 5 year old, 3 year old, and 1 year old!

Yea, their b-days are all within three weeks of each other ;)

I was also the camp director for Girls Camp {a church camp for girls aged 12-18} for one week. We had a ton of fun! Unfortunately, no pics. Most of the time, I don’t like carrying my camera around with me, I feel obligated to take pictures of the action, rather than participating. I’d rather just be in the moment, ya know?

But, as promised… Here are the pics from Little L’s Rapunzel Party!

I changed the bow that was originally on the gift-boxes.

I dunno… the thought of sewing 16 bows, left me a little… overwhelmed & frustrated.

So, I opted for a hot-glue-gun and some felt. These hair pins ended up being way cute.

There were also:

Crowns… {I made them with my silhouette}

Jello Boats… {I found this idea on Paging Supermom}

and Scepters…

We decorated princess masks. $1 each at Michaels… that price-point is right up my alley.

I made these A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E. cookies!

The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle‘ is my FAVORITE cookie decorating blog. She gives you a FULL {& totally awesome} tutorial on how to make these cookies {here}!

People, I’VE NEVER DECORATED a cookie in my life!! and I did this!!

I deserve a huge pat on the back  ;)

In full disclosure, this was my third batch… the first two were hideous, monstrosities pretending to be cookies.

I even made this ADORABLE {loving all the uppercase letters yet?} Rapunzel Tower.

Sorry, no tutorial. I’ve been SO busy, taking pics and writing a tutorial stressed me out!

It was super easy though, so I will walk you through the process real quick. I took an unfinished bird-house from Michaels, painted it and hot-glued it to a ice-cream cone dish {found at Joann’s in their summer section}. I painted a wooden peg gold {also found at Michaels} and hot-glued it to the top of the bird-house. The I hot-glued paper squares all over the roof, starting from the bottom of the roof and moving upwards, when I reached the wooden peg, I went crazy with the hot-glue. I did not want it falling off. Last thing: braid some yarn and hot-glue the end into the bird-house, covering the bird-perch.

Voila! Bird-house —> Rapunzel Tower.

The party was a hit!

My daughter loved her Rapunzel party and I was able to make it unique with a few little tweaks.

This picture makes me happy!

Woah. You must be the coolest mom ever. I bet they LOVED this! Those jello boat shots are also genious….

  2. Mejia Mamma says:

LOVE!!!!! I’m pinning this for inspiration….hoping that my daughter is still into Rapunzel when she turns 4 next May, haha!

  3. Bettijo @ PagingSupermom.com says:

Love those tower cookies. Everything looks so lovely. Way to go!! Summer really is so hectic… Not sure why they call them “lazy summer days” LOL!

  4. Thauna says:

Heidi, so stinking cute!!! Everything is adorable. My grandbaby’s favorite movie is Tangled…might have to be inspired by some of your party favors for her 4th birthday. Although, it’s not till next May so there may be a new favorite by then. Although princesses are always in fashion.

  5. Wowy zowy!!! What a super fun party!!! That tower is awesome, and those cookies are so cute! And camp director? Yikes!

  6. Vanessa says:

AMAZING!! Love all of the details, especially the birdhouse tower!

  7. Amy Papale says:

This looks like it was a super fun party!! Love all of your details. I bet it was stressful but to see all of those happy faces must have made it all worth it. You did a fabulous job!

    • Peeshka says:

Love it all!! Um, but seriously, you shouldn’t get people’s expectations too high…because I think we both know that just because YOU can make those cookies doesn’t mean *I* can make those cookies. Let’s be honest about my frosting abilities here. =)

I’m super impressed, and I can’t wait to hear all about the Lalapalooza party – what?! I don’t even know what that is, but it sounds awesome!

      • Peeshka says:

Um, oops. Didn’t mean to reply to the person above me, that was meant to be a free-standing comment. =)

  8. Yvonne says:

Love it. So very cute and what a wonderful job you did!!
