the last three…

The last shop feature of our event! Vintage Soul Designs!

Check back tomorrow for some Mother’s Day Freebies! and a fun, quick giveaway on Facebook!

I’m really in love with all things vintage. I love vintage jewelry, typewriters, bottles, books, etc. If I could get a pink Royal typewriter, I would. I just can’t justify buying something that I can’t use right now. One day ;)

Vintage Soul Designs is a shop after my own heart! I actually own a fabulous faux pearl bobby pin from her shop and I LOVE it!!! It’s sooooo pretty! It looks like the ones below but with faux pearls.

Let’s meet Jana, shall we?

“Hello! I’m Jana~
From the time I can remember, I have always been a bit of a stylist and creator of things~everything from designing my own barbie clothes, painting and redecorating my room in the middle of the night, designing swim wear and clothing in high school and college when the budget was tight, or creating my son’s boy scout troop’s stuffed animal sewing projects. It has always been a priority to create.
As a “grown up”, there have been a variety of great jobs- as a children’s clothing buyer, a retailer and merchandiser, teaching preschool and volunteering in the school art department…  mostly doing something creative.
The creation of Vintage Soul Designs happened a few years ago, starting with camisoles and necklaces and it has just grown from there. I am always amazed by the beauty and variety of the buttons that have been around for hundreds of years.
The button rings are my personal  favorites to wear and the link bracelets are probably the most fun to design. The incredible vintage buttons all have their own stories to tell and in their simplicity make beautiful jewelry.
My true goal is to keep my designs affordable, fun and original to keep you checking back to see what’s new with Vintage Soul Designs.
Take a peek and enjoy!”

I love personalized jewelry.

One of my favorite necklaces, that I wear every day, has my three little pumpkin’s names stamped into it. Personalized jewelry is one of the best gifts for Mother’s Day! River Valley Designs is filled with fabulous hand-stamped jewelry.

Aren’t these pieces fabulous?

River Valley Designs Bio:

Danielle is is a 33-year-old mom to one son and is thrilled to be living her dream of designing her line of personalized, hand stamped jewelry and running her small business full time.  She worked as a Registered Veterinary technician for 12 years before February of this year and plans to continue to volunteer her skills locally and abroad.  A trip to a remote area of the Dominican Republic a year ago to help with a high volume spay/neuter clinic made a huge impact on her.  “My heart was forever changed!  My goal from then on was to be able to work River Valley Designs full time, so I would have the option to volunteer when and where I could”, Danielle says.  “It became increasingly hard for me to believe in and get behind the money-making aspect of veterinary medicine, when really I just wanted to volunteer in helping to reduce the overwhelming stray population here in the U.S.  and abroad.”
Danielle sets aside a portion of her sales to donate to local shelters and to save for a future campaign with Animal Balance, the organization that she volunteered with last year.  “I am SO blessed.  I get to design and work metal as my day job, and volunteer my tech skills to something I truly believe in and feel passionate about,” Danielle says.  “I wanted live by example so my son would see that hard work and dedication can make any dream a reality. But most importantly, I wanted to show him that until we take a hard look at those things that most people turn a blind eye to, because it’s “easier” to pretend it’s not happening, and contribute to solving the problem, you WILL feel like something is missing. To be doing what I love to pay the bills and volunteering my education and skills to something I believe so strongly in…it really doesn’t get any better than this!”.

Kim: The owner of Poppy Seed Projects

“I honestly couldn’t be anymore of a typical Ut. mormon girl.  I grew up in Layton Ut., went to Ricks College (I’ll have none of this BYU Idaho stuff), and than to USU were I met my husband at. . .yep you guessed it- my FHE group.  We both graduated from USU in 2001.  After a few bumps in the road and some incredibly fun (ha ha) pregnancies we have three kids.
YES I do have interests besides crafting.  I enjoy playing the piano, reading (everything from Eclipse to Jane Austen) gardening, running and traveling.  Two of my favorite destinations. . .Disneyland and the Caribean.  Poppy Seed Projects is one of my proudest accomplishments.  I LOVE operating the in and outs and designing, it keeps my mind busy, but more than anything it allows me to do that which is most important to me- stay home with my kids so they can drive me crazy!”
