a cruel joke

Let me set the scene:

9am: painful contractions start. Nine minutes later, another painful contraction. Eight minutes later, another painful contraction. This goes on for the next 1 1/2 hours, at which point I decide this is legit. I am in labor! Yipee!

11am: My doctor wants to see me. She says I am in the early stages of labor but that I should labor at home until the contractions are every 5 minutes, which I am totally fine with. I knew it was pretty early in the labor process to be admitted. I happily go home knowing that by the end of the day I will be holding my sweet little boy.

12pm: Painful contractions stop. After 3 hours of consistent, painful contractions… they are just gone.

Couldn’t be more bummed out, people….

This happened to me too before. There were definitely some tears and grumpy mama :). Hang in there!

LAME!! Here's hoping you get contracting painfully again soon!

Stinker! At least you're having contractions. I'm 2 days shy of 39 weeks and haven't had any!!!!!

  4. Audrey says:

What a downer! Just remember that all the work your body just did is sure to make the final labor process shorter. Good luck!

  5. Sam Findlay says:

Hang in there, I'm sure it will happen very soon!

I am wishing for THE most straight-forward, wonderful, powerful, amazing birthing experience for you this time!!! Hope you go into REAL labor soon!!! (Yeah, and what is it with false labor and the third baby?? 'Cause we all know it's "supposed" to get so much easier by the third baby…who started that rumor anyway, right?)

GOOD LUCK!!!! We are ROOTING for you over here!!!

  7. Rachel Ertel says:

We almost had our babies on the same day, which would have been awesome!!! I hope it happens for you soon. I know how you feel.
