Refashion your Headbands!

(For Personal Use Only)

Available in my Etsy store! (no longer available)

I bought “Miss M” these headbands from Target ($3.99 for 5) and they have been in need of a serious makeover for awhile now.
I made rosettes/flowers three ways…
1. Ribbon Rosettes: Twist ribbon and wrap around itself. Add stitches into the back as you go.
2. Zipper Rosettes: Tutorial here.
3. Ribbon Flowers: Cut ribbon into three circles (small, medium, and large) & melt the edges with a lighter. Add tulle between each layer of ribbon & stitch them together with a pearl center.

Hot glue all of the rosettes to heavy-weight interfacing.

Cut around each rosette.

Stitch the rosettes together. You will need pliers to do this. Pushing a needle through glue is very difficult.
Stitch or hot glue the rosettes to the fabric of the headband… and then you are done! So easy!

    what is inter-facing?

  3. Heidi says:

Interfacing is a textile used on the unseen or "wrong" side of fabrics to make an area of a garment more rigid.

It can be found at most fabric stores.

    Thanks for the comment!

  4. I adore the ribbon flowers with the pearl centre. What a fabulous idea to finish a very sophisticated headband for babies and toddlers. Thanks for the beautiful idea. x
